"I had my first ever acupuncture facial with Dr. Renee in July 2019.  I took before and after photos on my phone, and amazingly I could see a difference after one treatment! There was no pain whatsoever and while the needles were in,  she gave me a neck massage. I suffer from TMJ and she showed me a pressure point to help relieve my tension. I was also instructed on a tongue placement to help relieve tension when I am not talking. I have used both techniques that she taught me on a regular basis. They work! Lastly, she taught me cupping techniques to use at home to further enhance the treatment. I ordered the cups for under $20 on Amazon. Dr. Renee has a lovely, kind and generous personality. I highly recommend an acupuncture facial with Dr. Renee." – Lynn K., LA, CA

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an effective form of health care that has evolved into a complete and holistic medical system. Acupuncturists have been using this noninvasive medical system for over 4000 years to diagnose and help millions of people get well and stay healthy.

An Acupuncturist will place fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body. This activates the body’s release of endogenous pain killers such as endorphins, improves blood flow with delivery of oxygen and nutrients for cellular respiration that produces energy, decreases inflammation, balances endocrine production of hormones and neurotransmitters and brings the body back into the parasympathetic nervous system rest, digest and repair response and homeostatic ideal state that promotes self-healing and immune function. Natural healing is promoted that enhances recuperative power, immunity and physical and emotional health. It also can improve overall function and well-being. It is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems.

The most common ailments presented to an acupuncturist tend to be pain related conditions. For example; back, neck, knee and shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica.

Acupuncture is recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to be effective in the treatment of a wide variety of medical problems in addition to pain.

This finding has been verified in clinical studies in patients with various kinds of chronic pain including low back pain and diabetic neuropathic pain.” - Han, J.S. (May 6, 2004) Acupuncture and Endorphins, Neuroscience Letters;361(1-3):258-61.

This information is then organized to create a complete, accurate and comprehensive diagnosis of where Qi has become blocked or imbalanced. After the interview process, you may receive an acupuncture treatment. The first visit will take up to 90 minutes, from the second visit will take between 30 to 60 minutes.

What is Community Acupuncture?

Community Acupuncture is a fully clothed group treatment of acupuncture that takes place in a large room with a group of people together in comfortable anti gravity reclining chairs.
Why The Low Price for Community Acupuncture? And How Does The Scale Of $20 - 40 Work?

Why? We want everybody to be able to afford acupuncture. At the standard rates in Los Angeles, a course of treatment for your back pain is often more than a rent or a mortgage payment, but not with us... We offer a rate that allows you to get in and get treated as often as you need to to get well.

How does the scale work? Everyone gets the same level of care, but not everyone has the same resources.

You pick the price between $20 and $40, and no matter which price you choose, you get the same quality of care. If you can afford $20, then pay that. If you can afford more, then pay that. If you are in acute pain, and need acupuncture daily, the $20 rate makes it much easier to afford care, and $20 is less than many co-pays for insurance.

We don't check income, and we simply trust that our patients know what is best for them in terms of price. Those who do pay more allow us to give away treatments to patients who come to us from other nonprofits.

We are able to offer this scale because the founders and other staff members volunteer many of their hours.

*There is a $10 fee added to the price for the first visit only (to cover paperwork, administrative, and other costs).*

Why wouldn't I just pay $20 every time then? Good question! We encourage just paying $20! But, if you have the resources, and want to make it possible for us to keep this clinic going, then please consider giving more if you can.

As a result of some people generously paying more than $20 a treatment, we will be able to give away over 1000 free treatments, and over 10,000 low cost treatments in the our first 3 years.

We recommend that Chinese Medicine and acupuncture be used in conjunction with contemporary western medicine. Meaning: go see your doctor first. Your diagnosis can help us dial in our treatment.

Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation: Give Your Face a Lift and Glow

Facial Acupuncture increases the production of collagen and elasticity, improves muscle tone (preventing further aging and wrinkles), improves local lymph and blood circulation, reduces the depth of deeper lines, decreases bags (puffiness) under the eyes, reduces or eliminates acne and rosacea, provides a consistently smoother and brighter complexion.

Look and feel more vibrant, energetic, calm and healthy.

Acupuncture has been safely used without side effects to treat skin complaints and reduce signs of aging for centuries.

In fact, facial rejuvenation acupuncture, also known as cosmetic acupuncture, has a recorded history going as far back as China's Sung Dynasty (960AD - 1270AD), when the Empress and the Emperor's concubines used it to engender beauty and good health.

When Acupuncture is used to create overall balance within the body, the physical, mental and emotional patterns that contribute to aging are addressed, helping you look and feel younger.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can provide a safe, effective, natural, and drug-free approach to reducing the signs of aging. A facial rejuvenation using these ancient techniques can improve the muscle tone of the face and neck while addressing underlying imbalances that may have contributed to the aging process.

According to TCM, wrinkles begin internally from a constitutional imbalance and fundamental weakness of Qi. Qi circulates throughout the body within a series of pathways called meridians.

Flowing through these pathways, Qi provides nourishment, support, and energy to every cell, tissue, muscle, and organ.

As we get older it becomes more difficult for Qi to flow upwards to lift the face. This leads to inadequate muscle tone, and over time, wrinkles and sagging skin. A variety of factors can contribute to this poor diet, digestion, and circulation, or emotional and environmental stresses.

Give your skin a lift. Facial Rejuvenation using acupuncture tightens pores, improves muscle tone and dermal contraction while enhancing and increasing the elasticity of the skin. Acupuncture can reduce signs of aging by strengthening and stimulating the circulation of Qi within the meridian pathways, especially those of the face. You will look and feel more energetic, calm, vibrant and healthy.

Acupuncture treatments may be combined with herbal supplements, exercise, and acupressure in order to maximize results.

Facial rejuvenation with acupuncture and TCM is virtually painless, and a non-surgical method to reduce the signs of aging.

Before using drugs or surgery to improve appearance, consider acupuncture. It is an effective, natural, safe, drug-free and painless alternative. It can even help your entire body look and feel younger.
