Different COVID-19 Prevention Measures And Early-Stage Treatments For You To Consider

Sep 15, 2021 | Health Coaching

When the world was hit with a COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, so many lives were changed and unfortunately many lives have already been lost. That’s why it’s of utmost importance now to find different ways on how to beat COVID.

While the world’s leading scientists and doctors are working hard to develop vaccines and different medicines, as we understand how the virus works and how it spreads, we can use that knowledge to investigate current available medicines and technologies for different ways on how to prevent COVID and for COVID management in its early stages. Let’s get into some of those approaches.

An Alternative Route For Consideration

Recently, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding different approaches for how to prevent COVID and how to treat it early on. While there are some methods that call on the use of certain medicine that may not yet be universally recognized for the treatment of COVID, what’s important to remember is that this “off-label” approach has been going on for decades and is used to treat many other sicknesses. All over the country, doctors are prescribing different medicines that they think will help their patients.

Another thing to consider in all of this is how the fast COVID can spread and how it’s leading to more and more people being admitted into hospitals. To prevent hospitals form getting overrun and to reduce the fatalities from COVID, we need to find more ways for early stage COVID management and ways to protect ourselves from the virus.

Prevention

Prevention is always better than having to treat a sickness you already have. The first thing everyone should do is follow common sense public health measures by wearing masks, socially distancing, and avoiding being in large groups of people. The key here is reducing the amount of exposure we have to the virus to keep safe from it.

In addition to this, we can also leverage many different vitamins and nutritional supplements to help our bodies fight off any infection as they come. Here’s a list of supplements that will be beneficial against COVID due to their antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immune modulating properties:

  • Curcumin (Turmeric)
  • Nigella Sativa (black cumin)
  • Vitamin D3
  • Probiotics
  • Vitamin C
  • Zinc
  • B complex vitamins

Another preventive measure comes from The Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance. Their I-MASK protocol calls for the use of Ivermectin, Melatonin, oropharyngeal hygiene (i.e. using a daily antiseptic gargle), and monoclonal antibodies. This combination of medicines aims to address the different response our body would have to COVID while being inexpensive, safe, and widely available.

Early-Stage Treatment

Early outpatient treatment of COVID follows a similar rationale as some preventive measures. Therapeutic approaches are based on these five principles: reduction of reinoculation, combination antiviral therapy, immunomodulation, antiplatelet/antithrombotic, and administration of oxygen, monitoring, & telemedicine.

COVID management in its early stages first starts with reduction of exposure to the virus. The most noticeable approach is quarantining oneself to both prevent any further exposure to COVID as well as protection of healthy individuals.

Antiviral therapy is there to of course fight the virus and prevent any furthering of symptoms and further complications. There are a good number of doctors who recommend a combination of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), azithromycin (AZM), and zinc. You can supplement this with vitamin, vitamin C, and some also recommend adding a B complex vitamin.

The next two principles are there to address our body’s 2 most common reactions to COVID, an exaggerated inflammatory response and an exaggerated blood-clotting response. This then calls for the use of corticosteroids and anticoagulants or blood thinners to help in this regard. Consider N-acetylcysteine (NAC) as a immunomodulant with antiviral properties.

The last step is of course the administration of oxygen as needed and constant monitoring of those infected with COVID. You should also make use of telemedicine to allow a doctor to keep watch over the patient despite being at home. If these steps don’t lead to improvement or the patient becomes unstable, a 911 call is warranted for ER evaluation.

Learn More Through Alternative Medicine

With a long way to go before we find out how to beat COVID, it doesn’t hurt to learn about other ways we can treat ourselves when we get sick.
